- Make sure the load is not carried for long distance.
- Make sure the shape and size of material.
- Make sure the material is not too hot or cold if so use necessary PPE.
- When materials are loaded, keep feet, fingers clear of pinch point.
- Load should not be lifted above shoulder height.
- Bend knees, keep back straight, keep the load close to the body and lift the load.
- Avoid any jerky or twisted movement.
- Do not carry the load that will obscure your vision.
- Carrying too heavy loads should be avoided, use mechanical handling.
- Horse play must be avoided during the job.
- Necessary PPE must be worn by operatives.
